Museum Ivanić Grad

The Ivanić-Grad Museum was founded in 2014, and was registered as a public institution in 2016, when it started operating. It is located in the Park of Croatian Veterans in the city center. It operates as a local museum of the general type, and its activities cover the wider area of ​​Ivanić-Grad. The museum is located in the Park of Croatian Veterans, in the old school building built in 1861. "Old school" in the city park is one of the many buildings in which throughout the history of Ivanić-Grad classes were held for the children of the inhabitants of our city.

The primary commitment of the Museum staff is heritage research, knowledge gathering and educating visitors on topics in the field of culture, art and local history. Collecting objects and processing and storing them is as important as interpreting and communicating them. In its work, the Museum explores the historical continuity of settlement and development of the community from the late Middle Ages to modern times, with special emphasis on periods that strongly marked the historical development of the city and its hinterland. Also, the natural heritage is very important, ie the natural specifics and features of this area, which are also covered by museum research.

The vision of the Ivanić-Grad Museum is to become a cultural center in the area of ​​the town of Ivanić-Grad, which will contribute to the creation of a better social and cultural atmosphere and strengthen the identity of the city and its surroundings through consistent professional museum work. Our vision is to be a modern example of management, presentation, sustainable use of cultural heritage and a place of interpretation of the overall heritage of the city of Ivanić-Grad.

The museum is aimed at raising the quality of life of the inhabitants of the Ivanić-Grad area and beyond, attracting visitors and professional connections and cooperation with close sectors and institutions.
