Description

The museum in Čazma was originally founded in 1958 as the Homeland Museum, and was founded by volunteers from the Society of Friends of the Museum. The first exhibition was set up at the end of 1957. Today, the Čazma City Museum is part of a public institution (public museum).

It also has its permanent exhibitions set up in the Anton Cetín Gallery and the Aleksandar Marks Gallery, also one in the Moslavina Traditional House in Gornji Miklouš 45. The main floor of the Museum is a part of the Center for Information and Culture Čazma, which houses the museum, exhibits photographic reproductions of museums and subjects through various thematic exhibitions.

The City Museum of Čazma has a fund of over 14,5 thousand items distributed in 22 collections, and the with the number of items and its value stand out the prehistoric, ancient and medieval archaeological collection. In the prehistoric collection, the most numerous objects were discovered at the Rađinac site, and they belong to the Early Bronze Age. Especially valuable is the medieval collection in which objects of archeological sites from Čazma and the surrounding area are kept.

Among the first collections in the Museum are the Ethnographic Collection and the Technical Collection and Crafts Collection. The museum also has several memorial collections: botanist Ivo Horvat (1897 - 1963), writer and agronomist Slavko Kolar (1891 - 1963), painter (animator, draftsman, director, illustrator, designer) Alexander Marx (1922 - 2002). .) and the painter Milan Kren. Smaller museum collections are Art and Natural History.

The museum goal is to research the intangible heritage of the area of ​​the City of Čazma and encourage its preservation.
