Archeological site "Brsljanac forge"
Description
Bršljanovac (Ivy) Fortress was built during the 13th century on the estate of the same name, although it is first mentioned in sources in 1316 when King Charles Robert donated it with other estates of the unfaithful Peter of Moslavina to Ban Ivan Babonić. Soon the lands along the fort were separated from the administrative area of Gračenica and an independent administrative area of Bršljanac was created. The fact that tolls were paid in as many as seven places testifies to its spaciousness.
In 1363, a certain Latko became the owner of the fort, who in turn donated his fort Ključ to King Louis. After taking over the fort, the new owner begins to use the adjective “from Bršljanca (Ivy).” The next known owners of the fort are members of the Treutel family. They ruled the Bršljanac forge from the beginning until the 1930s. Then the fort was taken over by Ivan and Nikola Pratha, first by pledge, and then on the basis of the king's donation. In addition to the adjective Pratha, members of this family also use "from Bršljanca (Ivy)."
